The 2019 The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Carnival is a week-long celebration of all things equine. Join them for 10 magnificent days on Australia's number one holiday destination - The Gold Coast!
Don your most fabulous outfit and kick off celebrations with the Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo on Sunday 6 January. On the morning of Tuesday 8 January, the thunder of Thoroughbred hooves along the sands of the Surfers Paradise Foreshore.
One of the largest celebrations held throughout the country year after year is Australia Day. Celebrated on January 26th, Australia day is a public holiday that honours the arrival of the first British Fleet on Australian soil.
Be sure to celebrate at 'The Great Lawn' at Broadwater Parklands in Southport between 4pm-8pm. There will be over 20 food trucks and BBQ’s as well as plenty of activities for the kids and local musicians playing at the main stage.
To finish off the day, there is typically a fireworks display at around 8pm.
GOLD COAST SUPERFOILER GRAND PRIX

It's back for series two. The SuperFoiler is a national circuit – bringing the world’s best sailors to compete in an international circuit combining three domestic venues and three international venues.
The sailors will compete on eight revolutionary sailing machines – which fly across the water at 80 kilometres per hour.
There will be 12 races at each SuperFoiler Grand Prix event (three per day).
Sand safari 2019
8 - 24 FEBRUARY
The Sand Safari is a yearly event held on the Gold Coast where artists come and create sand sculptures for all to see. During this fun event, sculptors will transform the foreshore into a fantasy sandscape featuring all your favourite DreamWorks film characters.
This is a free event which features the Australian Sand Sculpting Championships where talented artists come to carve their masterpieces all along the Surfers Paradise beach. Using up to 180 tonnes of sand to create their jaw dropping pieces, the sand is moulded and carved with precision, the result being exceptional detail that only the best sculptors can achieve. After the competition, all sculptures will then remain on display on the iconic foreshore.
